Memoir is a gift you give to yourself and others.

It is a deeply personal document that only you can write. Examine the questions that confront the memoirist and discover what motivations lie behind the desire to write a memoir. Writing will be generated through a variety of writing exercises and organizational methods will be explored. This class will combine time spent discussing memoir writing, doing a variety of exercises whereby material will be generated, examining examples of memoir discussing merits of different styles and techniques, discussing how to keep the writing flowing. The focus will be supportive.
